Alban Tower Tirana (ATTI)

Alban Tower Tirana (ATTI)

Project details

Alban Tower, designed by Marco Casamonti & Partners / Archea Associati, emerges from a single grounded base that expands upward into four distinct volumes, recalling the logic of a tree branching into space. It is inspired by the lineage of Italian towers, from the monolithic mass and carved openings of Palazzo della Signoria in Florence to the expressive upper extension of Torre Velasca in Milan, which emphasizes vertical identity over the neutrality of a contextless skyscraper.
The project can be understood as an extension of Tirana’s Italian-planned 20th-century axial core, shaped by the Italian architects Armando Brasini and Gherardo Bosio. Generated from the intersection of its underlying geometry, the tower translates this urban order into a three-dimensional composition of four interlocking volumes.
The base façade combines pigmented concrete with embedded Murano glass, creating a textured, stone-like surface that reflects light and subtly draws attention at the pedestrian level. While the colors are a complement of 13 tones, distinguishing each volume while harmonizing with the surrounding natural context.
