Focus Film Rental

Project details

  • Architecture & Interior Design: LOAK Designs
  • Contracting & Fitout: FCL
  • Location: Giza, Egypt
Focus Film Rental, designed by LOAK, can be read as a spatial response to the act of recording.
The interior is defined by injected red planes cutting through floors, walls, and the reception counter, guiding movement and depth while heightening visual awareness. The counter operates as a spatial hinge, slowing circulation without stopping it, while vertical line cladding introduces rhythm and control, referencing the technical language of film equipment.
This internal energy is contained by the exterior. A non-uniform screen fragments the façade, while a carved, angular void emphasizes the entrance as a moment of compression before release. Through long-exposure photography, red light trails extend the interior spatial language into the urban context.
